Please read these terms and conditions carefully as they govern your use of the ‘free stuff’ section of IMO. By accessing IMO ‘free stuff’ you are agreeing to the terms and conditions that appear below. If you have any questions, please contact us at

  1. IMO is run by the Children’s Commissioner for England.
  2. Items or opportunities are only available to children in care or care leavers who are registered and known and therefore verifiable via their local children in care council. Councils can be found on the relevant page of the IMO website.
  3. There is no monetary or cash equivalent of the items or opportunities. They are distributed to be used and not sold on. They are not transferable.
  4. The Office of the Children’s Commissioner (OCC) will be the final decision maker in releasing an item or opportunity.
  5. Items and opportunities are offered as one per child (some may require some adult supervision depending on the offer) and on a first come first served basis.
  6. The OCC will endeavour to ensure no one area, individual or children in care council can monopolise access to free stuff, but individuals will need to urge their local children in care council to be the conduit in obtaining items or opportunities from the OCC if they are not already connected to OCC as the distributor.
  7. The OCC is not responsible for any mistakes, problems or loss of items arising within the Royal Mail postal service or any other distribution services.
  8. Items and opportunities are only available throughout England. The OCC will not post items outside of the UK.
  9. The OCC cannot guarantee that items or opportunities claimed will always be available in future or repeated.
  10. The OCC reserves the right to withdraw or amend items or opportunities advertised on IMO without notice.
  11. Items and opportunities are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute items and opportunities for others of equal value.
  12. The OCC will not be liable if the IMO website is unavailable for any period of time.
  13. The OCC reserves the right to make changes to these terms and conditions without notice and as deemed necessary.
  14. The OCC may ask individuals to contribute a voluntary written review or video message about an opportunity they have participated in for publication on the IMO site.
